We are excited to announce the establishment of the Scholarship for Healthcare Students, in honor of Dr. Yorell Manon-Matos. Dr. Manon-Matos is a board-certified surgeon and a dedicated educator who has been a passionate advocate for healthcare education. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a deserving student pursuing a degree in healthcare.
The Scholarship for Healthcare Students is open to all students pursuing a degree in healthcare at an accredited institution of higher education. This includes students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in nursing, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, public health, and other related fields. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, demonstrate financial need, and be committed to a career in healthcare.
Dr. Yorell Manon-Matos, MD, FACS, is a board-certified hand surgeon with over 15 years of experience, certified by the American Board of Surgery. He graduated from Dartmouth Medical School and the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at Baystate Medical Center and his fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the Kleinert Kutz Hand Care Center.
Dr. Manon-Matos is a highly respected surgeon with a long and distinguished career. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his work at national and international conferences.
